Why Is Welding Without Helmet Unsafe?

        my Esab Rebel 235 hurts eyes without helmet, eyes burn. Any fixes?

          wear safety glasses under helmet, my eyes feel safer.

            Welding without helmet causes flash burns. Use shade 10 3M helmet, my eyes stopped burning. Clean lense with alchohol, never weld without shield.

              Use 3M auto-darkening helmet, it is safer.
