This is driving me nuts cause my Lincoln Precision TIG 225 welds has dark spots on steel, Using 1/16-inch tungsten at 20 CFH argon, and welds lacks consistency. How i can avoid this problem?

Dark spots comes from poor gas coverage or prep, Check for leaks at 20 CFH argon, My Lincoln TIG had same issues, Clean steel with alcohol before welding, Set AC balance to 65% for control, Use 2% lanthanated tungsten for stability, Use 15 CFH argon to avoid turbulence, Sharpen tungsten fine, Ensure clean connections, Use wire brush for prep.

inconsistent welds comes from dirty surfaces, Degrease with acetone thorough before welding, My Lincoln welds clean now, Check ground clamp condition.

Use wire brush for surface prep, it helps.

Check gas regulator for proper flow, It improves weld quality.
