To all community members, fed up cause my Hobart Handler 190 can’t weld thick aluminum, Using 0.035-inch 4043 wire at 22V, and welds lacks penetration. any settings?

Thick aluminum needs higher voltage for penetration, Set Handler 190 to 24V for better results, Use 100% argon at 25 CFH, My Hobart struggled too, Clean with alcohol, Push wire don’t pull, Check spool gun tension, Use 250 ipm.

poor penetration means low amps on aluminum, Increase to 180 amps for stronger welds, My Hobart welds thick aluminum now, Clean metal with acetone.

Try a spool gun for aluminum, it works better.

Bevel joint edges, it improves penetration strength.
