Why Is Plasma Cut Edge Rough?

        My plasma cut edges is rough on 1/4-inch steel using Hypertherm Powermax 45, cuts looks jagged. Can you give me a solution to this?

          Rough cuts mean wrong settings. Use 40 amps for 1/4-inch steel. My cuts smoothed out. Check torch height at 0.06 inches. Use a guide rail. Slow speed to 20 IPM. Calibrate Hypertherm.

              Slow cutting speed to 15 IPM. My edges look clean. Clamp tightly.

                Use a straight edge for cuts. My cuts aligned better. Check amperage.
