To all community members, out of ideas cause my Hobart Handler 190 arc sputters on steel, Using 0.030-inch wire at 22V, and welds looks bumpy. Can you give me a solution to this?

Sputtering comes from poor gas flow or settings, Check for leaks at 20 CFH argon, My Handler 190 sputtered too, Clean steel with alcohol, Set wire speed to 240 ipm, Use 20V for stability, Tighten connections, Ensure proper ground clamp.

bumpy welds comes from dirty steel surfaces, Degrease with acetone thorough before welding, My Hobart welds smooth now, Check gas flow consistency.

Try higher gas flow, it stabilizes arc.

Low voltage causes sputtering, Increase to 24V.

Check ground clamp, rust disrupts arc stability.
